WCA Breeding Program for the Sphynx / Elf Breed Group

1. General Provisions
1.1. This breeding program regulates the use of breeding animals of the Sphynx and Elf breeds within the WCA system.
1.2. The program is aimed at preserving health, improving breed type, strengthening breed characteristics, and obtaining viable, breed-typical offspring.
1.3. All matings under this program must be carried out only between clinically healthy animals possessing pedigree documents and approved for breeding.

2. Permitted Matings
2.1. Within the WCA system, matings between Sphynx and Elf breeding animals are permitted.
2.2. The combinations Sphynx × Elf and Elf × Sphynx are regarded as permitted breeding combinations within the framework of the development and maintenance of this breed group.
2.3. The decision on the breed registration of kittens is made according to pedigree, phenotype, and the internal breeding registration rules of WCA.

3. Requirements for Breeding Animals
3.1. Both breeding animals must:
— have pedigree documents recognized by the WCA system;
— be properly identified by the owner and declared for breeding work;
— have no disqualifying faults;
— be clinically healthy at the time of mating.

3.2. It is recommended that only animals with stable breed type, correct temperament, and clearly expressed breed characteristics be admitted to breeding.
3.3. The priority of the breeding program is to produce animals with good overall condition, correct body structure, proper ear set, quality skin, and harmonious breed expression.

4. Objectives of the Breeding Program
4.1. Preservation and development of the Elf breed type.
4.2. Maintenance of a high-quality gene pool within the hairless cat breed group.
4.3. Consolidation of desirable breed traits, including:
— hairlessness or acceptable type of skin covering;
— correct body format;
— breed-typical ear set and ear shape;
— harmonious head profile;
— strong health and viability of offspring.

4.4. Prevention of uncontrolled breeding without consideration of breed, phenotype, and breeding characteristics of the producers.

5. Registration of Offspring
5.1. All kittens produced from the combination Sphynx × Elf are subject to registration within the WCA system in the established manner.
5.2. The breed designation of kittens is determined on the basis of pedigree, phenotype, and the registration rules in force within WCA at the time of litter registration.
5.3. When registering a litter, the breeder must provide complete information about both parents, the date of mating, the date of birth of the kittens, and the number of kittens in the litter.

6. Control and Breeder Responsibility
6.1. The breeder is responsible for the accuracy of information regarding the pedigree of the breeding animals and offspring.
6.2. The breeder is obliged to comply with standards of humane care, veterinary control, and breeding ethics.
6.3. The use in breeding of animals with severe hereditary defects, disqualifying faults, or signs of poor condition is not permitted.

7. Final Provisions
7.1. This program is applied within the WCA system as a basis for breeding work in the Sphynx / Elf breed group.
7.2. WCA reserves the right to clarify and supplement the provisions of the program as the breed group develops and breeding practice is improved.
7.3. All disputed matters regarding registration, breeding approval, and breed determination of offspring shall be resolved in accordance with the rules established by the WCA system.
