Kidney disease in cats: why early checks matter before symptoms

News: International Cat Care and IDEXX scheduled a webinar for 3 November 2026 on recognising feline chronic kidney disease earlier.

Why this matters

Visible signs can emerge when disease is already advanced. The programme highlights testing apparently healthy cats and comparing results with their individual baseline over time.

A conversation with your veterinarian

Ask about a suitable screening plan and retain previous results. The programme covers kidney biomarkers and nutrition. An isolated test result should not be used for self-diagnosis.

A useful cattery record

Keep dated health records for each cat. A pedigree records ancestry; it does not replace a veterinary assessment.
